Thanks for all the information yesterday, it's quite opened my eyes to this whole stitching things world. Now I am in love with all the patterns on http://www.sublimestitching.com/. Wahh, want.

I'm also have severe Etsy lust.

Oh, and some of you might feel the need for one or several of the samplers on Subversive cross-stitch. I know I do.

Heh, the really insidious thing about cross-stitch patterns is how easily most of them can be converted into loomed beadwork patterns. Pattern sites like this are pure candy to a loom junkie like myself.

Ooh, that's something I never thought of. That must look very pretty.

Try something small first, to see how you like doing it. It can be surprising discovering which style of embroidery appeals more, and sometimes it depends on your mood. It's very satisfying to finish a piece of embroidery, regardless of style - much like finishing writing a story.

*stuffs UFOs - aka un-finished objects - back into sewing cupboard while ignoring half-written stories lurking at back of hard drive* *g*

That's good advice, thanks! I bought a small (very) embroidery project. Hee, UFOs.

It is a place of great wallet danger! I might have to have the earrings, come payday.

Oooh, I know, Etsy. On particularly bad work days, I secretly surf there and fantasy shop. XD So much shiny.

Here's the cleaned-up version of the Discworld sampler (http://www.flickr.com/photos/24039818@N06/sets/72157603965336186/) -- bookmark that Flickr set and I'll add the matching "BURN THIS HOUSE" chart when I'm done graphing it. :)
