Wirk. I has it.

It's my number one top priority to find a new job in the coming months. I've applied for one already this year and have seen another that has an application date of 18 January. I'm well qualified for both, there would be mininal commuting and they pay very well. I'm feeling quite buoyed up by this, even if the thought of interviewing scares me. I know, getting ahead of myself. I don't even expect to hear back about interviews for a couple of weeks. But I would love to get either of them.

In other life organising-type things, I bought myself a tiny wee vaccum flask that's big enough for about two cups of tea, so I can save money on hot drinks when commuting. I took tea in it this morning. Mmm, maybe I can get some instant Turkish apple tea as well, for the evenings.

My new tiny laptop makes such a difference to my commuting life as well - it's so light! I can carry multiple other things in my bag with it, like my new wee flask and sandwiches and tupperware containers of bran flakes. Before, I was lugging round my Vaio and giving myself neck strain from it. Now, I can flit around like a flitting thing.

This morning I read the first chapter of After School Nightmare, which I quite liked, and about twenty minutes of Tin Man. My main puzzlement at first was wondering what this 30 year old woman was doing still living with her parents, but it is quite fun and camp. The Wicked Witch of the West aka the evil sorceress has a metal collar on her corset of evil and it distracts me, because I wonder did she ask for that or was it just a brainwave on the part of her dress designer. Who can ever know?

I got no writing done this morning because I was so shattered from the terrible shock of getting up at 6.30am. Last week I was going to bed at something near that time. Maybe I can write something on the way home.

Also, I am absolutely ravenous. I brough bran flakes as they're cheaper than muesli, but they just don't fill me up like muesli does.

Yeah, interviewing = scary. But it sounds like you're in a good mindset for it-- best of luck!

I always feel positive until I get to the interview part and then I feel like a crazy person. I shall attempt to stay positive about them, yes.

Good luck with your interviews. A short commute is worth a lot on the aggravation index.

Re Tin Man, the thing about DG is she is sposed to be in her early twenties (!) It is weird and fun and campy, but I had very mixed feelings about it by the end. It will be interesting to see what you think.

Aha, yes, now I realise DG is supposed to be younger it makes more sense. I've only watched the first part so far but once I've watched the whole thing I'll let you know my thoughts.

Go, you!

Golly I know what that's like. Congratulations on the work campaign and on the getting up at such an ungodly hour.

And say, what make is the tiny laptop? I need me one of those.

Thanks! Getting up early is really only suitable for pensioners and small children, not for people who have to get up early and *then* somehow find the energy go to work.

Oh, and also, the laptop is a Fujitsu Siemens si1520 and it weighs about 1.7kg. I couldn't find much lighter for cheaper, and it should've been 899 GB pounds but I got it ex display for less. Depending on how much you have to spend, Sony do a very light (about 1.1kg) Vaio but it's pricey.

A light laptop has made so much difference to my commute already though. I love how easy it is to carry round. Much recommended.

Sympathies on the interview terror. You could always try my approach: catatonia. :-)

Porridge is cheap. And filling.

I love porridge, as it happens. Sweet though, not salty. That said, I haven't ever had much salty porridge so maybe it's an acquired taste.

Interview plan so far: liberal amounts of caffiene and a new suit.

Well, good luck!

Mr Kis won me round to the delights of salt in porridge. Only a smidge though - and I put a tiny bit ofsugar on as well. Mr Kis adds liberal quantities of sugar and butter - but then, he's a string bean, so he laughs in the face of calories.

I really think you need a Hello Kitty thermos. With maybe a bento to match, for your muesli (look, I can finally spell it correctly!).

MUESLI.

But if I had a Hello Kitty thermos, my Gojyo one would feel feel all abandoned and lonely!!

Good luck for the job applications! Good pay and less commuting = win. ^_^

Also, yay for chibi-laptops. They revolutionise the writer's experience. *pets mini-vaio* :)

Thank you! I'm feeling quite positive about it - must remember to retain that attitude.

I love my wee laptop. It's not as wee as yours, but it's still quite life changing. :D

All the best dear for interviews and job apps.

As to waking up at ungodly hours...yeah girl complains about it too having to be up at 6 to be ready to walk to school at 6:45. (school starts at 7:15 here). But I'm there with her and its nice to be up with the dawn chorus once you get used to it.

I really am enjoying the early morning walk in with her and feel fitter already...especially after the Christmas and New Years fill-ups! I really need the excercise!

That is one of the nice things about being up early - enjoying the quiet and peacefulness of that time. I love it in the summer, not so much in the winter though.

I'm glad to hear you're feeling fitter after the festive fill-ups. It's such a good feeling to have the waistbands digging in less!

Best wishes on the job hunt! Minimal travelling is such a wonderful thing.

And Thank You! very very much for the lovely chocolates and the [squee!] Hello Kitty gel! :-D It smells lovely. And I noticed I got two of the champagne chocballs. [grins]

I concur - you need an HK thermos to horrify bedazzle your fellow commuters with!

Thanks - I got an interview already, so fingers crossed.

Heee, bedazzle. I do need a Hello Kitty themos, I have decided. Also, I saw the Hello Kitty gel and thought instantly of you! Now you smell of Hello Kitty.

Good luck with your interviews! Stay positive *g*

I may have to cave and check out After School Nightmare. I wasn't very interested when I first heard about it, but people keep saying good things about it. (I'm not going to cave and watch Tin Man, though o.O)

Aha, several people have indicated that they don't think so much of Tin Man. I'd never heard of it before this year myself.

After School Nightmare is pretty good and in fact lives up to its name and is quite nightmarish in parts. I'd have to see what vol 2 is like though - I can't say I'm utterly gripped.

Btw, thanks so much for pointing me to the AB doujinshi a couple of weeks ago!! Amazing. I still feel quite shocked by it I have to say.

I'll have to see what I can get to fall off the internet After School Nightmare-wise before I commit to buying it. *cough*

Tin Man was only out for the first time in December, so you didn't miss it by much. I've got a lot of due South/'six degrees' of Canada fans on my f-list and came very close to bothering to watching it on tv.

And god, that AB doujinshi. You're welcome - there was no way I could read that and not make everyone else who might care even slightly not do the same.

That doujin really broke me. I've just been waiting and longing for Ono to realise he's still in love with Tachibana, and then when it happens it's such sweet sweet pain. *sobs*
