I really need to clean out the cupboard where I keep my shoes, scarves, hats, coats and umbrellas. This morning I noticed that the spiders have started leaving their woodlice offerings for us there. At least they've stopped attaching them to the walls.

Anyway, the prompts for the October round of [livejournal.com profile] springkink are up and flaunting themselves at me. *shakes pathetic fist*

I'm going to make a list here of the ones that caught my eye, just so I can fantasise about writing them. Maybe it will be enough and I won't be forced to actually write them. I won't actually be claiming any of these. Probably.

Oct 3 - Saiyuki, Hakkai/Gojyo: AU - The wild, wild West
So tempting, except [livejournal.com profile] hibem has already done it so well. But I did just happen to find the Penguin Book of the Wild West in Oxfam books recently. Arg.

Oct 5 - Saiyuki, Hakkai/Gojyo: Oral sex - 'Victorian AU'
Ahaha, is someone doing this to me on purpose?

Oct 13 - Saiyuki, Hakkai/Gojyo: AU, futuristic, technophilic themes - the halfbreed really isn't human.
Oh dear god I love this one to bits. It would be beautiful - poor android Gojyo falling in love with human Hakkai. Nngghh.

Oct 17 - Saiyuki, any/all: AU - 1970s
Because Gojyo needs to wear hot pants & rollerskates and deliver glasses of champange on tiny silver trays to rich record executives! Er. Or a retelling of The Graduate? Or perhaps they're all living in a women's lib squat and chaining themselves to politicians.

Oct 24 - Saiyuki, Gojyo: Time travel - "Gojyo ends up in either the 20th or the 21st century and must make a place for himself."
This one attracts me a lot, mostly because of thinking about hot to extrapolate Minekura's Chinese Saiyuki-verse to now. But actually that might be easy enough seeing as how her world building is pretty sketchy. But, would the language be the same? And what job would Gojyo do? Because his transferable skills mostly consist of killing people or playing cards. Or looking after the mentally unstable. And what would he do without the others? Oh, it's starting to be depressing. On the other hand, humans and youkai might well have sorted out their differences by then. eta: Gojyo the one-man A team.

Ahahaha. No, I have a better idea: you write them all!

Hoorah the handbook of doom is finished. It's worth losing your pronouns over.

OMG. I just made a list of the prompts that interest me. I may have to go into hiding.

If I'm totally crazy, eleven. If I'm halfway crazy, eight or nine . . .

Well, if any of them overlap with Louise, you could co-write...

With everything that's going to be happening in October, I should be relieved that only a few jumped out at me (and all but two of those saying "Wow, I hope [livejournal.com profile] daegaer or [livejournal.com profile] louiselux writes me!"). I should be relieved. Instead, I'm sulking.

Well, if I add in the ones that overlap . . . I'm not sure I want to think about that too closely.
