Oh, work - please distract me. Tell me something about yourself. It doesn't even have to be weird or about ice skating!

Maybe you should write some of them down? Someone once made the hypothesis that there are two types of writer-- or creative thinker-- people who write things down to see what will happen to their characters and people who play everything out in their heads and never write anything down. I do what you do, to an extent. I get a lot from it - it can be intense and it lets me escape from the every day.

I love that you told me this, by the way. Thank you.

If you're still bored, I wrote two drabbles for you (just to try writing something down). Hopefully they're not too terribly trite and overdone. [Drabble = 100 words]

Rejection

Why?

Blood-red hair slid forward to cover a bloodless face, short nails biting into his skin, pinpricks of blood welling forth.

A sincere offer made with a jaunty smile to hide his damp palms and racing pulse, the rejection lancing sharply into him with a single word.

Why?

With that polite, distant look on his face, Hakkai’s razor smile lodged in Gojyo’s throat, blocking any response Gojyo might have made to that question.

Why?

Gojyo straightened, flipping his hair with a not-quite-smooth movement. A shaky breath.

Why indeed?

Gojyo didn’t care, he told himself. He hadn’t wanted that touch anyway.

Gojyo's Smile

There it was, the one he'd been waiting for all day.

They'd gone through the Everyday smile, the Polite smile, the Won’t You Get That For Me smile, the I'm Actually Angry Right Now smile, the Stop Arguing Now Please smile and finally the What Ways Should Disobedience Be Punished? smile.

Gojyo sighed, shifting slightly closer into Hakkai’s warmth and dozing off from the relaxing feel of fingers soothing his flushed skin. The genuine smile curling on Hakkai's lips right now was the one smile Gojyo always looked for, to keep it private from everyone else.

That was his smile.

Ow, that first one hurts. A sincere offer made with a jaunty smile to hide his damp palms and racing pulse. I love that image - in fact all the imagery is very strong. The list of smiles is great, especially the What Ways Should Disobedience Be Punished? smile.
