Written on the Skin was one of my favourite stories of the year. Vines and tattoos, could it get any better? I like the humour at the beginning that slowly changes to something more intense as Gojyo and Hakkai feel their way to a new understanding.
Also, I love the premise. I’m a sucker for a story which sees one person irrefutably declaring their love before there is any expectation that their feelings are reciprocated. Poor Gojyo!
Solitary was excellent. It’s stuck in my mind, and now I find myself worrying about prison!Gojyo at odd moments. You created a feeling of the mundane misery of prison and Gojyo’s lonliness in particular.
I like all of your stories, but these are the two that I found exceptional.
