Sunday and podcasts

Going back to work tomorrow after a nearly three week break. God I feel stressed about it. The aches in my hands and arms have mostly gone, although I am still having twinges and aches in my back and shoulders. I'll see how it goes tomorrow.

On a funner note, crystal_lilly wanted me to reupload a couple of Lou podcasts, so here they are, via yousendit: catboys and Hakkai the porn novelist (6.5mb, mp3) and me talking about works in progress and pwps (1.8mb, mp3)

I'd like to do a few more of these, but was wondering if anyone had any requests for things they'd like to hear me talk about? It's hard being faced with a microphone and potentially anything as a subject.

I just mulititasked - breastfed baby with left hand, used right hand to eat massive serve of pasta (breastfeeding makes me very hungry) whilst downloading your podcasts. Do you think I've irrevocably corrupted my child by listening to tales of catboy Gojyo and discussions of PWP?

Anyway, it was fun hearing your voice.

I think PWP is a story that consists of a sex scene where you could do a 'find and replace' for the protagonists names, and your casual reader would be none the wiser. So basically, very author dependant. A sex scene with good characterisation and emotions is not really a PWP IMO.

Well, that Kenren Tenpou sparring thing above sounds nice, ahem, and Mr. Cho, but I really enjoyed hearing you talk about the writing process, too. Sometimes you write AUs or different versions of first times, etc, and I always wondered, are there versions that become canon to you? I mean, for me, I always like reading first time 585 fics no matter where they are set, but in my own little brain, when it happened, it happened in the kitchen of Gojyo's teeny tiny house. Anyway, just curious.

Hope the tendonitis is feeling better! It was a real shock to my system to return to work after being off for four weeks on workman's comp, but my family helped out tons. I found it easier if I just accepted that I needed like, ten hours of sleep a night at first and to do no chores/cooking/cleaning. Sending good thoughts your way.

I love your voice... I know this doesn't help but anything you want to talk about is fine. Actually, how do you write? What kind of setting do you like? Do you prefer pen & paper or computer? You could talk about that sort of thing.

I like that topic a lot, of those kinds of ideas becoming personal canon. I think I do do something like that, but I can hold different versions of it in my head and still feel like they both might be true. I will chatter on about i sometime soon!

I think the definition I suggested is one that fits the term neatly. But most people use it to create a certain expectation - sex without any plot/psychological justification with regards to how and why the characters ended up in bed (on floor/in cupboard etc) together.
