I have finished Vasily the Frog (ie the first draft, so not at all really).

The secret perversions challenge ideas were fabulous, btw. Thank you! The main problem I have had was deciding which one to do first. Also, I wonder what it is about the stripper and prostitute scenarios that inspires us with such guilty pleasure... or just pleasure?

What karose thinks I look like. It really is true. I am a cat.

I don't own a car because I can't drive. And anyway, I am a cat. My kitchen radio is tuned to Radio 4.

Er... clothes? Okay, also my lovely spectacles, which I will wear at some point each day, even if it's just to stagger downstairs in the morning.

The cheese grater!! What is it about these things? Ours is never in the same place.

Livejournal. What else?

Wallet, keys, pen drive, pen, a tissue, ipod, tampon

I never never miss shows. Even with shows I love, I end up missing them because I either forget they're on or I go out.

10. What phrase do you hear yourself repeating too often?
Cool. That sounds interesting.

I am so glad you like Vasily and that the ending doesn't totally suck! Do you want to beta it for me at some point? There's no real rush though.

I wonder what it is about the stripper and prostitute scenarios that inspires us with such guilty pleasure... or just pleasure?

I've wondered that myself... My current theory is that the stripper/prostitute scenario simply allows us to set up our favorite characters as sex-objects in the most direct and uncompromising way possible. As a stripper/prostitute, sex is - in a way - their actual *function*.

They are lovely, they are desired and lusted after by many, and they are sex. It's the perfect excuse to start right with the sex and run with it. :-)

Since it's fiction and not reality, the less pleasant aspects of the set-up merely add a pleasantly transgressive (voyeuristic?) tingle. And it's a great setting for various varieties of angst, strength and courage in adversity, sacrifice, salvation, and other such things, of course!

Well, that's my working theory, anyway. :-)

My backpack's basic contents look pretty similar , and honestly, I forget my house key more often than spare tampons (for you never know). But I live at home so getting in isn't difficult... a few hours wait, max. XD

Mmmm, good theory! It makes a lot of sense, too, especially the courage in adverisity and the idea of finding salvation (or being dramatically rescued!) by whoever it may be.

Ooh, have just watched episode 1 of the Hikaru no Go anime! Sai is even girlier than in the manga, and Akira's obsession is even better! I'm now downloading like a fiend . . .

I'm downloading it from this post: http://community.livejournal.com/anime_downloads/217571.html (you need to join the comm, if you haven't already). Some episodes are on sendspace and have expired but a lot are still available on Megaupload. Hikaru seems less bratty in the anime, which is pleasant.

Can't wait to see Vasily!
