Kefalonia photos
Jun. 29th, 2006 11:30 amA few photos of the beach, mountains, olive groves and fruit. I didn't get any pictures of the giant wasps though.
There's more in my gallery here.

Olive groves sloping down to the sea - my favourite view.

Our beach hut, made from bamboo stakes and some bits of old beach matting

Our balcony, with a beautiful view. The garden was the owner's vegetable patch, where he was growing courgettes, lemons, olives, mint, fennel and tomatoes.

Kanali beach, where we went every day. It wasn't always empty like this, but it never had more than about 15 people on it.

Specially for
emungere, the vast mountain of watermelons in Argostoli fruit market.

Mount Ainos at sunset. This is the higest peak on the island, and rose up over the villages in a very dramatic way. It has golden eagles nesting on it, and I am pretty sure we saw two fledglings circling over the beach one day.

A burnt olive tree and the view from the path to the beach.
