News of the trivial - I only just got round to watching Peter Jackson's King Kong tonight, and my god that film is too long. A whole hour of special effects, scene setting, fights and chases could've been chopped easily. And the bit with the pink sucky insects was disgusting.

Last night we had some very nice alcohol, called 'Fine Lie'. Imagine a cross between brandy, grappa and cointreau and, yeah, you get the picture. And probably a good idea of the my hangover today. I spent a large part of today in bed, then another part looking at pictures of naked men umm. Lurid Digs is a collection of gay amateur online porn photos where the background interiors say more about the person than the genitals alone ever could. Not that the genitals can speak. Hopefully. Each picture comes complete with snippy commentary and yes, why do so many of them persist in being naked apart from socks? Just socks. No, not even with sock suspenders, hibem. I also learned that there are a lot of scary gold Dralon sofas out there, people (in the 'sofas from hell' bonus gallery).

In other news I went mad and spent £25 on an amethyst Lola Rose bracelet that I had been drooling over all year. It was reduced from £50, so my reasoning is that of course I saved £25!

Thank you!! I'm so glad to find someone else who shared my opinion of King Kong. Most of my body fell asleep during the movie. And I was bored. And the insect scene gave me nightmares. *shudders* Yet, the people I saw it with gushed over it. *shrugs* Who knows...

King Kong wasn't all bad, but it was just so long that by the end I was glad to see him die, mostly out of relief. I'm not sure that was what Peter Jackson intended!
