Hakkai: What's with that face? (which is great cause we just have to imagine what gojyo looks like)

Gojyo: Shut up. Don't talk [anymore].

p.38 Gojyo talking to Sanzo

Gojyo: Sorry, my hands are kinda full right now. I can't hit you.

Gojyo, I love you. Hakkai already did it, but Sanzo is such a giant bag of issues that he needs to be hit twice.

Probably. It could be payback for the time Sanzo hit him way back in vol 7 of the original series, which would be a nice mirroring of events.

My god. All the emotions was so powerful in this chapter. I'm still reeling from it right now.

I agree- it's such an intense chapter in its awfulness and then the love at the end. I'm still trying to decide what the hell Sanzo thought he was doing.

So he is! I hadn't noticed that, and of course later on page 34 (I think) there is the echo of another set of panels from vol 5 of the original series, which Gojyo looking down and Hakkai looking up. I love how it brings home the change between them, between then and now.

This part killed me. I think it might be my new favorite bit of Saiyuki, ever. ♥ Oh, Gojyo! His face when he's trying to resuscitate Hakkai, what he says to Hazel, and 'I'm begging you'....I admit it, I got a lump in my throat. Oh, my boys. Their love is so damn pure.

And god, Sanzo's face in the last several pages, when he sees them! Sorry, my hands are kinda full right now. I can't hit you. I just...! *death*

His face in the scene, where he is shouting at Hazel and trying to start Hakkai's heart again, is so shocking - I love it! Possibly this chapter is so intense because Minekura makes their emotions so very obvious in a way that she usually doesn't, especially for Sanzo. I think this is something he can't go back from, somehow. Wow. Yes, so much love.

Gojyo's expression really was shocking. He looked completely hysterical. We've never seen him like that before. And Sanzo was really incredibly emotional. Not in an angry, frantic way like he usually is, but a shaking, collapsing, stumbling-through-the-streets-in-shock and clinging-to-unconcious-Goku way. Wow. Minekura really did put them through the wringer in the last few chapters, moreso than usual. And I don't think this is something they can go back from.
