Eee! I was a Bad Fan for not saying thank you before; I've been meaning to, but, um, work just exploded, and my time on LJ is now spent staring at my screen in sheer, light-headed joy at reading words that actually make sense. (I am editing a 120 page document, and one of the reviewers has asked me to remove every instance of the word 'but' from it. That's just one of the suggestions, and it's not even the hardest one to implement, and some of them are not in any version of English I speak, and...anyway. That's where my brain has gone, and that's why I keep opening comment windows and typing pretty much entirely at random in them, while forgetting to say things I genuinely want and need to say.)
So: thank you thank you thank you for the uplods, which have become my Shiny Reward for when I finish with this document that routinely leaves me saying helplessly, "I'm also not allowed to use any substitutes for 'but'? But, but, but..."
No need to apologise! I guessed it was something like work craziness heh - literally 'cause you work for no buts crazy people. How the hell do you not use 'but' ever? Have they got a but fixation? Don't answer that...
