Saiyuki challenge and a rec

The Saiyuki comm 1000_roadtrips has a sparkly new challenge: Every fic submitted for this challenge must have two (or more) authors

Does anyone want to play? It could be fun, although let it be known I've never written anything with anyone else before. It's only 1000 words - it can't be that hard. Can it? Eta: I have playmates now, only two allowed in the rules. I think everyone should do this though. It could be lots of fun and there are lots of people I can think of that I'd like to see collaborate.

Indeed it is! It's from the "Shumi" mini-chapter side story thingy, Gaiden chapter 13.

I have also thought that there needs to be a Kenren and Tenpou fishing trip fanfic, but the plotbunny has not produced anything for me yet -- maybe it's waiting for someone else to write it. ^_~

Ah, Gaiden! I've never written them and I would so love to.

The fishing could be very funny. Do you think Kenren actually knows how to fish, or is it just an excuse to slack off with some beer for a day? I have an image of Tenpou in a boat with a floppy hat, smoking and drinking and looking baffled with a fishing reel and Kenren not knowing what the hell to do with either.

And yes, I can totally see him sitting around in a boat all day, dozing and drinking, and then stopping somewhere to buy fish on the way home so he has something to cook. So he might not be all that pleased if Tenpou invited himself along. Heh.

Do you remember that panel where he has a KFC Colonel Sanders statue in his office? He's clearly also god of tacky memorabilia. He'd adore Sno globes, and also weird fishing lures made out of sparkly plastic.

So... how do we best go about writing this? Do I write some and then you write some, or does one of us write it all and the other heckle from the sidelines, sort of thing?

That ashtray! What are those frogs up to? I've always wondered. I might be imagining it, but I'm sure the frog ashtray crops up somewhere else too, and I think it might be either with Ni Jieni or Koumyou.

Writing by turns sounds like the funnest way. I'll set up a post today and we can start whenever you're happy to. Flip to go first? You call heads or tails. :)

Oohh. Reading the collab between you two is actually the dream I didn't know I had!!!
