Domestic woe
Feb. 6th, 2005 12:29 amDave the plumber came round to fix the cistern leak this morning. He's a good plumber, but taciturn to the point of freakishness. In a whole hour he said 'hello,' 'can I use this bucket?' and 'bye'. I spent the rest of the morning mopping the floor and cleaning up.
Adventures in home baking this evening: my lemon thins were a disaster: too sweet, not lemony enough, greasy and burnt. There probably wasn't anything else I could do to them to make them worse. But I still ate two in an effort to prove to myself it hadn't been a complete waste of time. Feel sick.
