Was I the only one whose heart went pitter-patter when we discovered that Sirius had long dark hair again in the Order of the Phoenix? It made me think omg!recaptured youth. That long, silky dark hair means he’s still a rebel at heart and Remus probably runs his fingers through it (or at the very least secretly wants to).

Long hair invites you to touch it and I love the contradictory messages a man gives when he has long hair - it's sensual, rebellious, feminine and showy. And wild. Long hair on men might be more acceptable these days, but it still basically means sex and drugs and rock and roll. Look at Gojyo. Mmm, yes, look at him! He's got hair like a red velvet curtain that when he leans down to kiss Hakkai it swings around them and cuts them off from the world.

Despite the blatant, fabulous peacockery of having long hair, it falls in a man's eyes and it means he can look out from under it in a mysterious, seductive manner. It can be pushed back with one finger over his ear to expose his face. Also, let's not forget ponytails, because one of the very loveliest things about men is the back of their necks where the hair shades down into the nape of the neck. Long hair tied up in a pony tail makes it all the more lickable and vulnerable-looking and I just want to put my fingers there and touch the pale, sunlight-starved skin.

Finally, consider the immense joy gained from brushing, combing and putting all that long shiny hair into a pair of cute bunches.
