poker and waffle

Weee! I'm having the fannish warm fuzzies because Saiyuki vol 6 is here - thank you Nostaliga & Comics in Birmingham for being so timely with your shelf stocking. It has Goku on the cover, twice, and inside much posing in black hoodies against the stark bare branches of trees - not as good as the handcuffed-together-in-suits posing in vol 4, which remains my favourite. There are some very slightly incomprehensible bits of translation and goddamn the interaction between Dokugakuji and Gojyo is very slashy indeed. Someone had fun with that. Also Kougaiji and Doku. There's some very nice things with Sanzo and Goku, when Sanzo wakes up, that I never picked up from the fan translations. Will almost certainly waffle more in detail later.

In other news, am off to play poker for the first time ever tonight. *dons poker face*
