I love a challenge, me. I've recently had some success, at last, with
impulsedriven, which is a multi fandom 2 minute challenge. I found it impossible to write anything that I was even vaguely happy with in that amount of time. As the name suggests, it's all about impulses. You look at a previously unrevealed word and then instantly write for two minutes based on it. My instant impulses generally didn't take me anywhere at all. Then I decided to think about what I was going to write, for about 10 or 15 seconds of the two minutes, and that worked, or at least worked better than randomly putting pen to paper and seeing what came out. So technically what I'm doing is not impulse driven as much as 10 seconds of chewing my pencil driven.
