I'm not sure about today - I did a lot, but feel like I've achieved nothing. I still feel vaguely depressed from reading The Charioteer.

There are some new recs at [livejournal.com profile] miladysboudoir, in a variety of delicious fandoms.

I tried on approximately 178234 pairs of smart trousers today and not one pair fitted in any way that could be called flattering. The big ones were too big and the small ones were too small. Why? *shakes fist* Not even the M&S short-arse range could meet my needs. But I did get 2 summer skirts from H&M, both flattering a-line numbers, which I can wear for work when it gets warmer. *hopes*

How do people cope with very small children? We only had one in the house for an afternoon, and now I'm knackered, the entire house is covered in tuna mayonnaise and my knees hurt.

But, you know that mayonnaise? I made it myself, from a recipe by St Delia, the original domestic goddess (if not quite as glammy as Nigella). It's richer than shop-bought, and far tastier. The only snag is that now I've got buckets of mayonnaise and nowhere to go. M will have to eat it all.

Despite that small energetic person taking over my life for a while, I managed to get on with my remixredux story, and I'm having lots of fun writing it. The subject matter is a bit of a departure from my norm. Metaphorical camel-fucking, as [livejournal.com profile] ellen_fremedon would say. But with added zebra fondling:-)
