A day off! I'm not back at work till Tuesday now. There are cocktails tonight, but first I have to clean the house because it's a pit. In the post this morning I got a birthday card with £10 inside it from my mum, which was very sweet, and a yellow plastic rain cape, all the way from New Zealand!

Paul Bettany won best actor at the Evening Standard British Film awards, which were shown here last night. He said: 'Thanks to my leading ladies, Helena Bonham-Carter, Olivia Williams and Russell Crowe.' Hee!
