Apr. 3rd, 2002 11:55 amGetting seriously behind schedule with my site updates-that's a whole month of recs to add, plus all the new West Wing stuff I've turfed up recently. As always when I get into new fandom, I read an avalanche of fic and am still reeling from the onslaught.
There are simply not enough hours in the day to read it all and still maintain a semi-together life. Sod it-I'll give up washing. Amazingly, almost everything I've read in TWW fandom is reccable, and the quality of writing is fantastic. Most of it is firmly based on the characters in the show, and so avoids the any-two-guys syndrome.
The fandom is a real contrast to HP fic, which although has it's share of excellent writers, it also a disproportionate amount of dross, probably because a, it attracts very young writers and b, a larger volume of writers overall. I still tend to think of HP fandom being small, and am always surprised when I realise it is now a monster.
Thanks Bernice for boinging ideas off my head like a particularly enthusiastic squash player. Got me FQF fic off to a raring start.
