I have spam which tells me where to find vagina tightening cream, followed by the words 'masonic baggage'. Am upset.

Last night I watched the BBC version of The Hound of the Baskervilles, with Richard Roxburgh as Holmes and Ian Hart as moody!Watson. It's slashy as hell - this is what we like to see. I adored Watson's sly amusement and Holmes wistful-sounding, 'goodbye Watson'. They have a lovely 'odd couple' sort of tension going on between them, and Watson at one point tells Holmes to 'take your hands off me!' Ahh, lover's tiff. The scene at the very end is a veritable slasher's paradise, as Holmes tries to make Watson like him again with dinner and a show. I read on the BBC website that Ian Hart is to continue playing Watson, this time to Rupert Everett's Holmes when they film 'The Empty House' next year.

I forgot in the last post - would you like me to ask you five questions?

Who do you think is going to be the next prime minister (and who would you like to be the next PM)?

What's your favourite fandom to write in, and your favourite character to write (er, these seem to be turning into multpile questions - humour me!)?

What's the best thing about fandom for you?

What do you think is your most endearing foible?

What is your earliest memory?

Hey, I never said Holmes was monogamous:)

Okay, 5 questions for you:

How did you first become involved with fandom?

Why do you like slash? (a nice easy one for you!)

Do you have a favourite author(either fannish or professional or both)?

What's the best thing about where you live?

What's your favourite texture?

I thought when I saw it over Christmas that particular version of Hound of the Baskervilles was very slashy, but I've also had an Ian Hart love thing for ages, which helps immensely.

Rupert Everett as Holmes? Now that's not even *trying* to avoid subtext...

And if you're interested enough in what I think to ask me questions, please feel free. :)

I think this new Homes will be very gay indeed...

Okay, 5 questions for you:

Out of all the actors who have played Sherlock Holmes, who do you consider to be best/is you favourite?

Do you think Ian Hart is the perfect Watson? If not, who?

Can you remember the first slash story you read (and what was it?)

What was your first fandom?

Who is your favourite author (fan or professional or both)?

As much as I love Jeremy Brett's portrayal of the great man, I'd have to say I'm still a lover of Basil Rathbone as Holmes. There's just such a wiry energy about him despite the idiotic plots of some of those movies. Brett is the purist's Holmes, I think, but there's just something about Rathbone's portrayal that works for me. Roxburgh was okay but a little dull, while I think Rupert Everett should be very interesting!

Do you think Ian Hart is the perfect Watson? If not, who?

He's pretty damn nigh perfect for me. :)

Can you remember the first slash story you read (and what was it?)

Yes, it was a very scary Stargate one which had a nasty mean General Hammond making poor weepy Daniel give him blowjobs under the desk on pain of being sacked or something. Character assassination all round, really. And I remember thinking 'what kind of weirdo writes this stuff?', never realising that about 4 months later *I* would be one of those weirdos. ;)

What was your first fandom?

My first official fandom, once I knew what fandom was, was Stargate SG-1. However I'd been a major Man from UNCLE fan, collecting the paperbacks and annuals and generally fantasising about Illya Kuryakin on and off since I was about 12, so I guess that was my first.

Who is your favourite author (fan or professional or both)?

Favourite professional author would probably be either Ursula K LeGuin or James Lee Burke.

Favourite fan authors are numerous - the first one that leaps to mind is an author who writes mostly Stargate, Lori Grey. She writes the most fantastically lengthy and intricate plot-heavy stories that never seem to have a wasted word. I envy her immensely!
