The Tortoise - Good Omens, for [livejournal.com profile] daegaer

Aziraphale kept it in a wooden box packed with wool and straw. Cold and wet outside, it slept till winter left then woke to blink with black fruit-pip eyes at the light, and to chew on expensive salad leaves that the angel poked into its mouth.

'Why do you bother?' Crowley asked every spring, always at the same time passing a finger over its quilted and whorled shell, over the little claws on its feet. 'It can't talk, or do anything.'

The tortoise had reached 110 years and it pierced Crowley with a sour stare.

'I love it,' Aziraphale replied.

Sex and death - Good Omens/Sandman, for for [livejournal.com profile] enigel

Sex and Death: Crowley knows them both intimately, now.

She's getting ready to leave. He can't feel her skin very well-- it’s as slippery and elusive as the trickle of silk over his fingers.

Still, he strokes her naked back as she pulls socks on.

'Stay a bit longer?'

Playing it cool, but her smile tells him it’s not working. Death leans over and kisses him, slowly and thoroughly.

'It's Destiny, I'm afraid,' she says, eventually.

'Oh. Him.' Deflated.

'We won't meet again,' says Death. She goes, with a sweet, childish wave.

'Not ever,' he says, to his empty bedroom.

The reason why Crowley had to get out of bed at the end of the 19th C - Good Omens/Sherlock Holmes, for [livejournal.com profile] daegaer

A letter fell to the doormat, the name and address smudged and splotched: the work of an impatient hand.

Crowley ripped it open, curious. Reading it, he laughed, a high-pitched breathless sound of disbelief.

'You were surprisingly easy to find. It took me only an hour. Take more care ...'

Holmes had warned him on that warm night in Paris: 'I shall keep one eye fixed firmly on you, always.'

But it didn't matter, did it? Holmes would soon be gone.

His stomach twisted, remembering how it felt to be the focus of such brilliance, examined minutely.

Found wanting.

Awww, Aziraphale and his tortoise. But you know, tortoises do know their owners, they even love to be caressed on the head and shield (says the owner of four turtles/tortoises never know the difference) :D

Sex and Death is perfect sequel to the drabble Enigel wrote. Poor Crowley!

Want to read more Crowley/Sherlock! Post, send, whatever! Show meeeeee!

Do they really like to be stroked on the head? That's very sweet. Are they very intelligent creatures?

Glad you liked these, and as soon as I've battled the long Crowley/Holmes fic into a reasonable shape I will send it you!

Ahem, don't laugh but since I'm not very good at naming names, I named them after the four Ninja Turtles ^^;;;
Michelangelo (my favourite) is the one who loves most to be stroked on the head and who is also the least shy of them all. Donatello (who was bought almost at the same time as Mickey, and who is the male) is the escape artist of the gang. He used to run into the neighbour's garden all the time but now we managed to get them a part of the garden for them alone. They are both Hermani Hermanii species, which means Greek land turtles.
The other two (Raphael and Leonardo) have just been bought last month, are still very young and quite scared. They are a different species (of which I keep forgetting the name), which are rumoured to be more scared. They are currently in a sort of terrarium here in the computer room.
I wouldn't go as far as to really call them intelligent (not sure how I could measure it), but they do recognize their owners and do know where the food comes from.

Yay, looking forward to receiving the fic! Oh, and I'm battling with Crowley for the moment, but it's starting to catch up a tiny bit. Hope to have something to send you by the weekend as well :)

Thank you so much!

The longer Holmes fic is in progress. I know that you write in quite a few lit fandoms - have you ever written any Holmes fic, out of interest?

I haven't, actually. I grew up reading the stories and watching the serials on public television, so Holmes has always been rather close to my heart... though I must admit that I've been a bit tempted to try some out! ^^

Oh my, you took my silly little idea and wrote something so wonderfully bittersweet and in character! I really, really like it.

And Crowley/Holmes? The world is getting better. Delighted to hear there's a longer fic I can look forward to :D

I'm so glad you like it! I liked your idea very much. I loved the idead of Death wheedling her brother for a favour.

I did post this in reply to the drabble you left too, but am a bit worried that lj might have been playing up that day and you didn't get the message, so i'm glad you saw this!

Oh, I received it, but since it was in about the same time as your posting all three drabbles in one place I thought I'd comment here to add to the Holmes love :)
