Well.

Also GIP for Hajime's hands. I think I have a thing about him. He's my favourite character in Peace Maker Kurogane, but no one else seems to be much interested in him from what I can see. He's sarcastic, slightly creepy and can see into the future. I honestly can't see why he's not more popular. Plus he wears Sanzo's gloves and is deadly with a sword.

Stay away from that Crowley/Aziraphale stuff. You'll just hate it.

Even though I'm not a particular fan of Peacemaker Kurogane, I'll weigh in here to say that I thought Hajime was an excellent character - creepy, mysterious, grotesquely amusing, and hinting at a very involved backstory that (in the anime version at least) we never get to see.

Hajime's not my favorite, but I also have what seems to be an unusual favorite in that series: I find the hero's brother the most likable, the most reasonable and one of the (if not the) strongest and most couragous characters - though his strength and courage, as well as his sacrifices, take a form that can't be acknowledged by the reigning samurai ethos. Even those who are actively trying to break out of it and be peacemakers are unable to see their value, because they, too, are still defined by the concepts in question.

Erm. Will shut up now. *g*

Bwah! Yes, it sound simply awful. I'd never write those stories where Crowley and Aziraphale fall into bed and have hot fumbling sex. Er...

No, don't! *g* That gave me some real insight. I can't recall that chaacter's name right now, but he does seem fundamentally different to the others. He makes a very difficult decisison, I think, not to follow in his father's footsteps.

Exactly, he did - especially since he risked his little brother's contempt while at the same time doing the only reasonable thing he could to ensure his brother's well-being. He more or less sacrifices himself for his kid brother, who's now his responsibility; no-one can even see him with the kid around, because (among other things) the kid is doing something brave and wondrous and marvellously admirable by the outdated standards and paradigms their father died trying to shift. By the standards everyone still judges by... not even the kid sees the brother, most of the time.

The only one who seemed to see this at times was the dreadlocked old friend of their father - I have no idea what his name was - who called the brother "dragon boy". Not the samurai kid... his older brother, who was more or less invisible to most other people.
