I really like this. The SC gang feels just right; and yet it also feels almost as though they could be reincarnations of Sanzo and Gojyo and Goku, which makes for interesting speculations. But really. I love the quiet, sweet sense of peace that's not quite sadness about the scene. It's just lovely. The drifting between absent-ness and sharp-mindedness in the owner, and the books...it bespeaks both Hakkai and Tenpou; and it flows just right for being either Hakkai himself in older age or a later incarnation altogether. The last line casts my vote toward later incarnation, just for the record. Beautifully worked. Crossovers are a tricky business when one doesn't want to do flat-out comedy; and you've managed a serious, canon-on-both-sides rendering that flows perfectly along the SC storyline. Kudos!
