The week and the end of it
Aug. 11th, 2007 01:56 amI should actually be in bed now, but I wanted to file a report on my week. I didn't realise how tense work was making me until last night, when my long weekend begun. A very stressful work problem began to be solved on Thursday and my boss also called one of my ideas brilliant, which is rare enough to be startling.
Mostly my week has been spent working, fretting about fandom, drinking beers and watching the Russian TV Sherlock Holmes with
daegaer. Until last night, when we met
toscas_kiss and hit the town. Freedom from work!! The cocktails were really good and interesting: mine were: espresso martini, with espresso, vodka and a shot also of coffee liquer. Then I had prosecco with elderflower cordial and pear vodka. Finally I had... oh, I forgot. Mind destroyed by booze oh noes. Afterwards we had Wagamamas: I had yasai yaki soba with spring onion, butternt squash and cripsy wonton bits - it was delicious.
toscas_kiss gave me presents! A book on how to care for baby dragons and a brooch. I have to take a picture of the frog on a lily pad brooch she made for me. It's so beautiful and I can't wait to wear it. I also have to say thank you to
new_kate for the other frog brooch. It's a small gold one with diamante and is totally bling. Really, I feel so lucky. Frogs!
We went out for lunch today at the King William pub in Ipsden. It's in the middle of nowhere and has a view of rolling fields and many gormless sheep. The food was excellent: rounds of grilled goats cheese on crispy leaves and tomatoes, with thick cut home made chips. We sat outside at a table with bitter shandy and watched the sheep and the red kites and it was incredibly restful.
I even managed to fit in some writing, although not as much as I hoped. My list of to do things is waiting... calling to me. Whither gay viking holiday plot timeline?
But now I should sleep, because tomorrow we go to Avebury.
