I fell on top of a woman on the train today - it was very embarrassing. I think I elbowed her in the face but she was very polite. But I paid for my reckless falling about by having a puncture (front wheel, phew). And, I failed to read the challenge properly for
contrelamontre, again. Well, partly I think I didn't quite get it, because it was about using water as a base for a story, but water in terms of its astrological meaning. It seems a bit thing. Anyway, the resulting story has literal water in it and no water subtext. I simply can't post there again having read the challenge wrong, it's embarrassing - I seem to do it every week.
I've been reading
daegaer's summary of 'Tention!, or A Story of Boy-Life During the Peninsula (*so* tempting to mispell) War. They're brilliantly funny, but I'm fast concluding that G Manville Fenn was really a bit naughty and that parts of his books were more than a little tongue in cheek. No one can be quite that innocent, can they?
