I've got a cake base and a ganache, now I just have to make the filling and put the thing together. But first I have to wait for everything to cool. I need a cup of tea.
Oh thank you much!! Excitement! :D I'm not ignoring your email about the art btw, but I stopped to really think about what prompt I wanted and then it's suddenly three days later.
You're most welcome! I just hope it gets to you undamaged; I couldn't quite afford the extra cash it would have taken to insure it. >.>;;
I went ahead and sketched a little something for you (alas, it is not quite porn, but I hope you'll be pleased anyway), and you'll find it in the package, but please don't feel as though you can't still prompt me! I tend to suffer a dearth of good ideas, so I always welcome them. ^^
You are very wise to recognise the need for tea. Sometimes I take it into my head that I can so order things as to be able to work smoothly straight through from start to finish with no breaks. In theory I move efficiently from step to step radiating zen-like calm, my kitchen a marvel of order and precision as I serenely produce the most difficult and complicated desserts. In practice, I tend to shout at people. A lot. Tea breaks are vital.
I can't wait to hear how it turns out. Is there is any chance of pictures, at least of the finished log?
Given my baking skillz I have decided on a Christmas lasagne (well, more like a today lasagne). Why can't the Antique Bakery be (a) real and (b) conveniently located to all of us?
Mmmmmmmmmmm, paaaaaaasta. If you're ever in a hurry, the Tesco vegetarian one (in a green pack) is very yummy.
I love making a huge one and nibbling at it over several days - it just seems to get tastier. If you mix cottage cheese and mozzarella, and put some on top of each layer of filling (bottom of the dish filling, then cheese mix, then layer of pasta, repeat ending with cheese), it is unbelievably yummy. (And for me, a headache in a dish, so I don't make it too often!)
That sounds like my idea of heaven. :) Actually, my idea of Heaven would be Sanzo covered in chocolate, but at this point just chocolate will help. *g*

Also! I put a package for you in the post yesterday. With my luck, you won't get it until after Christmas, but I hope it reaches you soon. ^^
