Roger's new Wimbledon kit this year is very shiny. Roger's bag handles co-ordinate with his belt, and under the coat there is a matching waiscoat. This is no ordinary tennis outfit.

It seemed to have upset some critics, not because they don't like the cut of Roger's trews, but because they think that Roger's dress sense is alienating proper manly men from watching tennis, for fear they might suddenly feel compelled to rush out and buy a gold and white manbag. Or something. Rock on, I say.

In conclusion, Rafa's cheekbones are better than everyone's.

Roger certainly knows the importance of matching his belt to his bag. It's these little things that make the oufit! I absolutely love his outfit, and I definitely don't agree with the critics, why can't he have a little fun with his outfit at Wimbledon? I love it!

You could cut diamonds on Rafa's cheekbones, or something, his hotness and Roger's awesomeness has melted my brain.

I think in particular some of the US male bloggers just Did Not Want this outfit - it seemed like a threat to their masculinity or something, that they could like a sport where men carried shiny gold bags. Silly men.

Amen on the duds, Pete. I agree that Woods' stuff looks about right for both the millionaire sports super-star and the aspiring duffer who wants to look well-dressed. translation: tiger woods dresses in a way that is not intimidating for a straight, middle-class white guy.

I think Nike is limiting sales with Rogers' stuff by turning him out like a poncey poofter, not that I don't love me poofters, but this is tennis, not ice-skating.

Yes, exactly that! The underlying theme of 'he looks like he might be gay, no proper sport loving man will like him' was so clear. I think he's scared that the US will lose all interest in tennis, and feels that Roger should make more effort to be appealing to the American audience. He also seems to blame Nike for not dressing Roger to appeal to the American market. I just hate this shit. What about the rest of the effing world?

I for one ADORE Roger's Wimbledon get-ups every year. It's wonderful to see him have so much fun with it. And lol reading that article was a bit of a chore, oh boo-hoo poor man feeling threatened by ~gold~ and posh trimmings. I agree with what one of the sane comments said re: odd double-standards too, considering that the ~old greats~ of Tennis during the 70s/80s did show up in quite short shorts, and wouldn't that be considered more fey by the OP's standards and etc. *ROLLS EYES FOREVERRR*

I love the fact that Roger brings a touch of style and fun to Wimbledon with his different outfits, instead of wearing what everyone else does. Why shouldn't he make a statement with something other than his sublime tennis?

I find it adorable that Roger loves dressing up so much. It's a side of his personality that is really unexpected, I think. He seems such a full on tennis geek a lot of the time, and then it turns out he loves to shop and wear pretty things. It so sweet!
