Sunday update

Note to self - watch Merlin v soon.

The Parental Units came today to deliver many delicious pastry and cake products into my freezer ready for Christmas. I feel preemptively three kilos heavier. Must go the gym tomorrow.

The Empire of Bags is developing. I've just done my third wholesale order and have another in the pipeline. I've been making stuff like crazy as I have a craft fair beginning next Thursday running to next Sunday. If anyone's interested it's here, in Henley on Thames. Argh, nervous. But, I have a lift there sorted out, and a table, and a big list of things I need to take and to get done. There is a central paying system so I don't need a card reader or anything like that.

Here's my latest creations:

AND! The infamous Sherlock Holmes chicken-choking wallet:

You make the coolest stuff! I wish I could come and buy some--unfortunately there is a fair expanse of water between myself and Hanley on Thames.

I know what you mean about feeling heavier--I have just come back from a weekend at the house of my Uncle the Pastry Chef. Ouff.

Aww, thank you!

Ooh, a pastry chef uncle! Amazing!

i LOVE that fairy tales bag. and all the other ones. you will be a smash hit at henley on thames, how could you not be with a chicken choking wallet?

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2009-11-30 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, you cried! I'm sure will too. I'm going to watch it now and sob into my sherry.

I think the fine discerning shoppers in Henley will love the chicken-choking wallet!!

Oh, the wallet! So much love...! <3<3<3

I need a "Go Away, I'm reading" owl myself. Although my mother wouldn't take the hint even if the text were in Spanish.

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2009-11-30 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
For the life of me I can't recall a story in His Last Bow that involves a chicken head. Or a cock head. I can only guess the illustrator was making dark hints at Holmes's self abuse habit.

Lol! Mothers are uncontrollable anyway. What would it be in Spanish, out of interest?

[identity profile] lauand.livejournal.com 2009-11-30 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
"Lárgate que estoy leyendo" would be the sentence that would express more accurately the same concept, although you could say "Lárgate. Estoy leyendo", too. Imperative tense in Spanish gets conjugated according to the number. This is the second-person-singular version.

There are many possibilities, though, I've just chosen what I think fits more.

Heeeeeee!!! I really, really want to buy the chicken wallet for a friend of mine, but there's no shipping cost given in the etsy listing; is that on purpose? I don't want to click any buttons and potentially mess up the system before I know for certain. ^____^;;;

So much love, for everything really. I love your book bags. ♥ ♥ ♥

Thank you so much! I'm so chuffed you like them! The Holmes chicken-choking wallet has to be one of the favourite things I've ever made. So perfect - a cover designed for fangirls.

Just to explain about the shipping as I don't want you to be confused - I'm doing a free shipping offer at the moment until 1 Dec, so that is the whole price. If you click through to the checkout it should all work fine.

[identity profile] eldanis.livejournal.com 2009-11-30 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
The Holmes wallet could hardly be MORE perfect for fangirls, really. :D I'm buying it as I type (the paypal page is loading XD), and I can't wait to see it in person. If it helps, would you like to hang on to it and not ship it until after your craft fair, so you'll have it available as an example piece?

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2009-11-30 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
Aww, yay! I hope you love it. Thanks for the thought about shipping, but I'll ship it you as normal, as I've got more wallets on the go at the moment, and hopefully should have a fair number for the craft fair.

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2009-11-30 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
No, I'm having a free shipping deal worldwide at the moment, until the 1 Dec!

And thus falls one of my excuses. I suppose I should hie to the shop...

I'm so happy for you that your Empire is expanding! Soon your designs will be gracing the cover of Vogue as modelled by Anna Wintour and Roger Federer...
