Random and Saiyuki recs

Random things

Creepy room thing - click around and things happen in a scary fashion. It starts creepy and gets worse. Far worse. I'm jumpy now, and alone in the office...

The penis cake - very not worksafe indeed. What gets me is not just the attention to detail, which is frightening, but the fact 'Happy Birthday Mom' is inscribed below it. I'm not sure it'd fly well in our house, as the poster puts it.

Saiyuki recs

Complications by [livejournal.com profile] mistressrenet, Hakkai/Gojyo - amazingly hot, whimper inducing fic.

Interesting drabble by [livejournal.com profile] hydr0phobia

Enough by [livejournal.com profile] nekonexus, Gojyo/Sanzo. I really enjoyed the dynamics between them in this.

Bogeyman by [livejournal.com profile] tryogeru - Hakkai, gen. Set when Hakkai moves in with Gojyo. I could really see this being the inside of Hakkai's head at that time - not quite sane enough to cope.

I'm sure everyone and their cat has read this already, but I did only recently: The Tragedye of Sanlet, Prince of Denmark by [livejournal.com profile] andmydog

Okay, I lasted about 5 seconds on the room thing!! And I'm alone in the office too.

*looks nervously over shoulder*

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2005-10-31 02:36 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a good job you didn't do anymore of it then. It's gruesome by the end. *shudders*

[identity profile] hungry-worm.livejournal.com 2005-10-31 02:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm afraid that cake would cause much amusement in my family. *hopeless*

The room thing is indeed creepy. And thanks for the recs,I'll be sure to get back to them when time allows. :D

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2005-10-31 02:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Lucky you. :) We'd be laughing to cover up the appalling embarrassment.

Hope you enjoy the recs.

[identity profile] karose.livejournal.com 2005-10-31 02:55 pm (UTC)(link)
x_x Got to the second room and had to stop. Far, far too early for this.

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2005-10-31 03:18 pm (UTC)(link)
It's really *really* creepy. There are *things* that look at you from doorways, and staring eyes. *shudder*

[identity profile] karose.livejournal.com 2005-10-31 03:26 pm (UTC)(link)
The hand in the bathroom, damn it. The hand.

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2005-10-31 03:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Did you see the head coming out of the bath? That was just... ugh.

[identity profile] karose.livejournal.com 2005-10-31 03:31 pm (UTC)(link)
That was sort of spooky and at the same time really lame because, dudes, let's please stop ripping off The Ring. BUT THEN THE HAND AAAAAH.

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2005-10-31 03:37 pm (UTC)(link)
My heart rate spasmed like a shot rabbit.

[identity profile] karose.livejournal.com 2005-10-31 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Whoo, managed to finish this time! The bathroom was still the worst, but-- seriously, the hallway? CAN WE PLEASE STOP PARROTING THE RING? It's not the horror film to end all horror films everyone seems to think it is. Sheez, these people need to discover of Leaves en masse, before I can't like anything anymore.

...

The bathroom was still awful.

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2005-10-31 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I liked the Ring, but yeah, once you've done someone crawling out of the TV and up close once, it's hardly going to have the same impact. The creepiest thing for me were the eyes of the man in the portrait - not when they were bleeding, because, hokey! but when they got just a tiny bit too big and round.

I've never seen House of Leaves, but may well investigate now.

[identity profile] karose.livejournal.com 2005-10-31 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, the eyes got me a lot too. The blood was so cheese that the gunshot caught me fiendishly by surprise, though.

Oh. And to save you time. (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0375703764/qid=1130793416/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/103-1111744-4758223?v=glance&s=books&n=507846)

[identity profile] emungere.livejournal.com 2005-10-31 03:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Aaaahhhhh. *creeped out* I couldn't stop! The corridor was pretty bad, but I still think the bathroom was the worst. Meep.

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2005-10-31 03:41 pm (UTC)(link)
As karose puts it, THE HAND!

I had a bad time in the living room with those awful staring eyes.

[identity profile] emungere.livejournal.com 2005-10-31 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Seriously, THE HAND!

And the way shadows you couldn't quite see kept moving in the windows and stuff. eep. The thing with the gunshot made me jump.

[identity profile] bethbethbeth.livejournal.com 2005-10-31 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, that was seriously creepy. And that was even though I watched it at work *with* my co-workers laughing at me behind my back. *g*

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2005-10-31 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee! The thing that peeped at you round the door was horrid. In fact it was mostly horrid.

[identity profile] baka-gaijin.livejournal.com 2005-10-31 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, that penis cake was quite life-like. But those balls... omg, what were all those nubby things all over them?? Very scarey.

thanks for the recs!

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2005-10-31 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahaha! That's just what I thought. Some serious goosebumps there. XD

[identity profile] baka-gaijin.livejournal.com 2005-10-31 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
yikes! it's razor burn, that's what it is!

Oh. My. God. That room game is giving me Ring flashbacks - I'm not sure I'm going to get very far in this!

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2005-10-31 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Popular vote says the bathroom is the scariest bit!

[identity profile] aqua-eyes.livejournal.com 2005-10-31 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Be gratified to know that I have not yet read The Tragedye of Sanlet. Prince of Denmark. XD! Thank yee for the links.

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2005-10-31 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I am gratified! I thought everyone ever had read it before me. It's very very funny indeed.

[identity profile] aqua-eyes.livejournal.com 2005-10-31 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee! Tis on my too read list!

[identity profile] iibnf.livejournal.com 2005-10-31 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
That creepy room thing... is it just a ball and photo? I've been clicking and clicking and nothing happens other than squeaky ball...

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2005-10-31 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
You have to keep clicking on it and then things start to happen.

[identity profile] andmydog.livejournal.com 2005-11-01 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
That house is awesome! The jump-bits are cheap, but I still jumped (hand! HAND!)

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2005-11-01 10:54 am (UTC)(link)
The HAND!!

I jumped, a lot.

[identity profile] cicer.livejournal.com 2005-11-01 07:22 am (UTC)(link)
HEAD. IN THE BATHTUB.

I saw that last night and it scared the crap out of me. Eee!

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2005-11-01 10:55 am (UTC)(link)
The head in the bathtub was completely terrifying. *cringes*

[identity profile] maeritrae.livejournal.com 2005-11-02 11:27 am (UTC)(link)
I got through the first room and left it at that.
