Shallow? I'm not shallow.

Lupin has a moustache in the film? Damn. *cries*

I hate moustaches. Apart from the one Daniel Day-Lewis wore in Gangs of New York. That was a good one, and on him it was sexy (that's the first time ever I've thought that facial hair was attractive), but Lupin's mustache, Lord help me, looks small and bristly and ginger and deeply unsexy, and I fear I'll never be able to love it.

But apart from the moustache shock, it's been a good day. I got some lovely feedback in my inbox this morning, which made me happy. Various complicated things at work were sorted out and now we have a very rough (but at least we have one) time-scale for all the writing we have to do. At last, a plan!

I got on with my Remus/Sirius fest story on the train home, despite being coughed on by Coughing Man. Honestly, I could feel the wind of his passage, it was awful. The seats were shaking, people's hats were flying off, small children rolling down the aisle like tumbleweeds. Luckily he got off at Oxford to go and spread some more germs around in the fresh air.

So, tonight I am drinking wine, thinking about doing some typing up of stories, and pottering about online, and defintely not thinking about moustaches.

Moustache?

*pats you* There, there. As Sushi says, there's always shaving fics.

There are going to be rather a few "shaving Remus" fics in the near future, I daresay.

Hee! I daresay there will be.

Moustache?!

Is there a picture of this moustache anywhere? Because I'm imagining something truly awful now.

Here's the link to the story, which is on the right-hand side; http://www.zanzaro.com/azkaban/news.htm

And here's a link to the pic. Maybe it's just a cruel hoax, but in this picture, it certainly looks like he's sporting a bristly caterpillar-like growth on his top lip.

*is confused*

The only picture of Lupin I saw at either link was the one we've already seen, in the Shrieking Shack with Lupin in the background, and he doesn't have a moustache there.

Yes, it's that picture. You obviously didn't, but the first time I saw it I thought he was wearing a moustache, but dismissed it as a shadow. But that news story from the set seems to confirm that Lupin is wearing a moustache in that picture. Boo.

What's wrong with moustaches?

Little confusticated, here.

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2003-08-23 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
There's nothing wrong with them really, it's just that I personally find them very unnattractive, especially the short, bristly-type ones. They make me think of pipes, cardigans and oppresive moral codes. I don't know, blame my upbringing! *g*

I just adore them on some guys. I think it depends on the dude and the moustache, but say for example William H. Macy in Happy Texas, or Kiefer Sutherland in The Cowboy Way. I just think they look adorable, and it gays them up so very much :-)

I admit to being rather a fan of facial hair in any case, which I know puts me in a minority. I prefer Jonathon Frakes with a beard, and Viggo Mortenson's manly stubble as Aragorn, but I think that's in a class of its own!

Then of course there's Tom Cruise's beard, Penelope

~slaps own hand

But, yes, pencil thin bristly mo's? Yuck.

Haha! Poor old Tom.
