16!

Oh, Rog! 16 slams! But poor Mand. I felt for him.

There were tears again, not Roger's this time. What is it about the AO that makes everyone cry?

“I can cry like Roger, it’s just a shame I can’t play like him.”

Oh, Mandy moo. Your time will come.

From Rog's presser:

"I thought he was actually doing fine until he told me, I think there will be some tears. I'm like, Don't worry, it will be all right. And he actually did.

You know, in a way it was hard to watch, but at the same time I like seeing players who care for the game. I don't know. It's nice to see, you know. So you wish, you know, only the best for him."

Oh, no! The Mandy-bot is leaking from his ocular vision sensors!

(And is that a new subspecies of Federbear?)

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2010-01-31 02:44 pm (UTC)(link)
His oracular cleansing system simply malfunctioned at an unfortunate moment, that's all.

(I sincerely hope not)

I was hoping Federer will win another one, but I did feel sorry for Murray at the end. He looked so sad. Well, I think he'll get plenty of chances in the future.

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2010-02-01 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
It was pretty gutting watching Murray get upset, but yeah. His time will surely come.

[identity profile] i-am-zan.livejournal.com 2010-01-31 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)
We got decent coverage(and any time I watched I thought of you! ^_^) and I did feel bad for the pressure on Murray ... it ... it must have just been immense and crazy.

*HUGS* - how are you dear? Is it warming up to spring yet? *sends blasts of warm air* Hope all is well and good with you! Take care ok. Love.

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2010-02-01 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah! He had such immense pressure on him, the poor mook.

I'm good! It's still freezing over here. Wish I had some of your warm air - my feet are cold all the time. *snuggles*

[identity profile] adela80.livejournal.com 2010-01-31 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Aww, nice pic of Roger and his dad.

Just gutted for Murray right now. Why does everyone hate him so much? He tried so hard, and at the end I was just tearing up with him. HIS DAY WILL COME.

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2010-02-01 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it totally will. He just needs to break through. He can do it. I guess a lot of people don't like him because he doesn't show much emotion, or postive emotion at least? I think he changed a lot of people's minds today though.

[identity profile] kaiserkuchen.livejournal.com 2010-01-31 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay for Roger ♥ And man that koala plushie is cute (something the twins might enjoy?)

“I can cry like Roger, it’s just a shame I can’t play like him.” ...I laughed, and then went awww, because Mandyface is kind of endearing. And I keep forgetting how young he is! Am sure he'll finally get a Slam in the next few years~~

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2010-02-01 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
Mandy was totally endearing, it was so sweet! He can do it, I'm sure, poor guy.

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2010-01-31 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I did feel sorry for Mandy during his speech, but the bottom line is he came out and served like a Wilbur for two sets. He lost because he played badly, and he needs to deal with pressure better if he's going to win. Both guys started a bit woolly, but Roger pulled it together much earlier.

So I didn't feel as sorry for Mandy as I did for Andy Roddick last Wimbledon, because Roddick didn't actually do anything wrong, poor guy.

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2010-02-01 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
A Wilbur - lol! Yeah, he wasn't at his best. It was noticeable that he wasn't pumping himself up or getting angry and I wondered if he was feeling constrained by the magnitude of the and if that affected his game.

[identity profile] yami-tai.livejournal.com 2010-01-31 06:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I was hoping that Andy would win this one, but if he had to lose to anyone at least it was Roger :-)!

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2010-02-01 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I thought I was going to be neutral about this match but in the end I was rooting for Rog and was so happy to see him win. I think Mandy moo will have lots more chances.

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2010-02-01 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I knew there was no chance I'd be neutral. I've adored Roger for too many years for me to switch allegiances now, just because another guy happens to be a Brit.

[identity profile] tarteaucitron.livejournal.com 2010-01-31 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)
i was really shaken when he started crying. oh mand. soon, bb.

btw: i saw tom at a party this afternoon, who says he has commissioned a bag from you. (\o/) he's not sure what the status is, though. i said i'd check.

ALSO. there was a girl there, whose sister is doing some sort of thesis on "upcycling". she was v. interested in bookity, so i have passed on your card, which i happened to have handily about my person. i said it was going really well, and talked about how you do ready made and commissions and stuff, and tom also bigged you up, and everyone was all WOWS. :D

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2010-02-01 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
Seeing Mand have that moment was actually shocking! I literally never thought he would, and then I just wanted to give him hugs and puppies. Roger was welling up watching him. So many tears in tennis!

I found this in a fan report: When the two men were waiting to collect their trophies, they chatted and whispered and smiled and chuckled together. When Roger returned to the tearful Andy after his speech, he rubbed his hand on Andy’s back.

Back rubbing! Mandy will be all confused and yet aroused.

Also, thank you so much for pimping my bags!! That sounds exciting! I emailed Tom this afternoon - I'm just waiting for the book to arrive, which it should do on Monday/Tues, and then it's all go.

[identity profile] niennah.livejournal.com 2010-01-31 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I have to say, I like Mandy about a thousand times more now that he showed that kind of emotion today and was totally gracious about it. What a tough time to cry! And awww @ Roger's presser.

Only Rafa and Roger do hugs, though. No one else gets hugs.

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2010-02-01 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
He was v gracious - I was so pleased to see that. I think Rog was happy someone else was crying for a change, but he seemed geniunely touched by Mandy's moment.

Roger did stroke Mandy's back. There may be ructions!

Ah great game wasn't it! Pretty intense there at the tie breaker. My poor heart rate! I wanted Rog to win so much (as always), but Murray put up such an awesome fight it was impossible not to be impressed and a bit sorry that he lost. Unless he's totally off his game, I reckon next year he might be crying a different tune!

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2010-02-01 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
I think everyone's heart was pounding. My heartrate was substantially increased. I was so glad he won, but was totally moved by Mandy's moment. He was v gracious. He's gonna win one of these things sooner or later, for def.

[identity profile] emungere.livejournal.com 2010-01-31 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Aw, poor Mandy. I did actually feel bad for him, and he looked quite sweet while he was chatting with Roger.

HOWEVER THE IMPORTANT THING IS THAT ROGER WON. <33333333

[identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com 2010-02-01 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
HE WON! HE DID NOT LOSE! \O/

GIANT HEAD OF WIN!
