Hotel booking of doooom

Am attempting to book a room at the Park Hotel for Connotations, but their computer is broken and they are all charmingly flustered. The Park Hotel has the worst on hold music I've ever heard; it sounds like someone's holding a musical birthday card to the phone.

My dad's work used to have radio one on the phone, and when the Chris Moyles show was on I tended not to want them to pick up.

*grins*

Whereas the Hilton? The Hilton is just pants, especially when they're describing all these wonderful spa style things that you CAN'T AFFORD because you just WORK THERE and are trying to find out your hours...

Not that I'm bitter. Man, glad I don't work there any more.

You're far better off now! Working in hotels is bad for the soul. I speak from experience - I was a chambermaid once, complete with 100% polyester uniform.

Have they unflustered themselves? Maybe everyone going to the con could bring them a CD of alternative hold music :-)

Squeeeee! Due South - yay! Thank you so much. I always knew I wanted to lick a mountie.

I am sipping my Goddess of Mercy tea, although maybe Kwan Yin prefers something with more cocktail umbrellas in it. It's actually very nice - quite smoky, but delicate and I love the tin.

I will report back re the Park Hotel soon. I need to phone them back.

Yay! I'm glad they both arrived! I was convinced the box would take forever. Fraser is very lickable indeed :-)

Hurray, the room's booked. It's for two night, 30th and 1st. This time I'm bringing my own salad!

It is awful, isn't it? All twinkly 'we WILL be cheerful' musak. Ick.

It's horrible. Musak to watch your life pass before you eyes by. What were they thinking.

Hmm. Pink carpet fuzz that fills your brain, distilled. Hmm. Where was that description? Douglas Adams, maybe?
