After we spent 30 minutes queuing in the bank this morning a woman walks in and goes straight to the front of the queue.

Me: the queue starts back there
Queue jumping woman: I know

Me: You've jumped the queue. We're all annoyed
Queue jumping woman: Don't panic. I only want to ask a question
Me: So do we (indicates very long queue). We've been waiting half an hour to do that.
Queue jumping woman: I won't take long
Me: That's not the point
Queue jumping woman: It is.
Me: But that's not fair.
Queue jumping woman: It's just a question

At that point the conversation began to sound like a broken record. Short of physical violence, which was tempting, there was no way to stop her. She was patronising, too.
